Zhang Xue 820RR – Oil Pump & Regulating Valve

As a precision secondary component inside the engine, the oil pump and regulating valve act as the engine’s “heart valve”. Zhang Xue Motorcycles has developed its own stringent design standards for this critical high-technology part.

Compared with automotive engines, motorcycle engines operate under far more extreme conditions – higher RPMs and wider angle variations – making regulating valve stability essential. During hard track riding or extended high‑RPM operation (e.g. in a high‑revving engine like the Zhang Xue 820RR), the oil pump’s flow rate can become excessive, creating internal drag. Only a precisely tuned pressure relief valve can continuously regulate flow to ensure normal engine function. This represents an unforgiving test of component stability and ultimate performance – the final line of defence against engine overload.

In the Portuguese round, when Zhang Xue crossed the line with a 4‑second advantage to take its first win of the season, the 820cc engine was fitted with an oil pressure relief valve custom‑developed by Qingdao Taiyo Giken.
